ATTENTION: GRADE 5 HEALTH EDUCATION TEACHERS
The Chiropractors' Association of Saskatchewan is excited to provide the 2009 Spinal Health Care Week program to your school. This information is being distributed with the cooperation of the Saskatchewan Department of Learning. These materials have been designed to support the healthy body strand (e.g. skeletal system) of the Grade 5 provincial health education curriculum.
Spinal Health Care Week runs from May 1st to 7th annually. It is officially proclaimed by the Saskatchewan Minister of Health. The intent of this electronic resource is to educate students about the human body and about healthy lifestyle choices. The main message is to prevent injuries and to promote health and wellness through proper posture, good nutrition, adequate sleep, and regular physical activity.
On this site you will find the following:
- Teachers Guide with five lesson plans
- Back pack handouts
- Canada's Food Guide
To enhance the learning experience of your students, we provide in-class presentations from local Chiropractic doctors in May. These interactive presentations are approximately 30 minutes in duration and have been well received by teachers and students. If you would like a guest speaker, please call:
